Kathryn Lewis Wommack is passionate about improving speech and language skills in children. After receiving her undergraduate from the University of Texas at Austin, she pursued her graduate degree at the University of North Texas. Kathryn is currently a doctoral candidate at Northwestern University due to graduate in Summer 2025.

Kathryn completed her fellowship year at Texas Children’s Hospital outpatient center and chose to begin her career in the school setting at Spring Branch ISD. She has loved bridging these gaps and building relationships with clients and their families in the setting of their choosing.  Her particular interests include stuttering and speech sound disorders. She enjoys spending weekends traveling and attending Longhorn football games with her family and beloved dog.

Kathryn received he undergraduate degree at the University of Texas where she majored in Communication Sciences and Disorders and minored in Business, additionally receiving a certificate in Children and Health from the UT Bridging Disciplines Program.

She received her Masters of Science at the University of North Texas in Speech Language Pathology. Kathryn’s clinical experience includes therapy with children, adolescents, and adults who stutter at UT’s Lang Stuttering Institute, assisting clients who have reading disorders at UNT’s graduate school clinic, and working with medically fragile children at Texas Children’s Hospital.

Currently, Kathryn works with a children and adolescents who present with a full range of speech and language disorders at an elementary and high school for Spring Branch ISD in Houston, Texas.

What People Are Saying

Memorial speech therapy and Kathryn are incredible! She worked with my 18 month old who was showing signs of a speech delay. She was so great interacting with him, engaging him in fun play that encouraged speech. She was also really helpful in talking with me about what she saw and how I could keep working with him myself. My son is now 3.5 and is exceeding all speech milestones easily. I’m so thankful for her help early on!

We have had the absolute JOY of working with Kathryn for our daughter who struggles with a variety of speech issues. Kathryn is so gentle and kind and loving and my daughter and our family absolutely adore her. She makes it so easy because she can come to you or you have the option to go to her in home office. We have seen such tremendous progress with our daughter and Kathryn has helped and walked alongside our family to help her meet her speech goals. She is extremely knowledgeable about a variety of different issues and if she doesn’t know the answer to something she seeks out research and the support of her colleagues. It has truly blessed our daughter and our family more than we could ever imagine working with Kathryn! We cannot recommend her services enough!

Ever since my child was denied speech services in school for stuttering last year, I had been looking for somebody in Houston who has a) studied stuttering for real and worked with kids who stutter and b) was flexible with timings, late evenings or even on weekends (not rigid like most of the therapists who work from 8-4). We are so so lucky that we found Kathryn. She opened up her home to us. The first time we met her, she treated us like family and made us super comfortable. I remember hugging her and telling her not to change. Kathryn has been working with my son since November of last year. She's finishing up her doctorate in speech language pathology with a focus on stuttering. It just took a couple of sessions for my son to feel comfortable with her and want to keep coming back. She also helped us get into a camp in Austin over the summer and get connected to some folks over there. She's also helping us this year to get free services from school. Isn't she wonderful? Please get connected to her if you need help in either speech or language. She or any member of her team would come to your home or meet mid way to help. She works part time in a school district as well so, yes she has tonnes of experience 😊.

Our son has been seeing Kathryn for about 2 years and we couldn’t recommend her enough! He truly looks forward to his sessions (even his little brother) and has been making tremendous improvement. Kathryn is caring, personable, and always so positive. Her concierge service is invaluable to our busy schedule!

My experience at Memorial Speech Therapy was perfection. My children were treated with respect, kindness and caring, yet still upheld to a standard of learning and discipline. This type of practice is hard to come by and I truly appreciate the quality of work done here. I only have good things to say about this SLP.
